NetZero’s Free Internet Service

Monday, August 13th, 2007

freelarge.gifLately, many people have been asking if NetZero is still offering a free internet service like they did in the beginning back in 1998. The simple answer to this question is, YES! Back when NetZero launched they offered free unlimited ad-based internet access. Down the road it became to difficult to only offer free internet, so instead of taking it away, NetZero continued to offer the free service up for up to 10 hours a month. This is the service that is still available today. Up to 10 hours a month of free internet access, no strings attached.

Anyone who exceeds this amount of web time every month was recommended to switch over to NetZero Platinum. A great service that is still available today.

NetZero’s free internet service comes with some great features. Aside from 10 free hours of web surfing a month, NetZero offers a free e-mail account with 1 GB of storage which can be accessed from any computer at anytime. This free service also has instant messaging compatibility. The service is very easy to download and only takes about 2 minutes.

So for anyone who just likes to check their e-mail or do a little surfing every month, there is no reason not to have NetZero’s free internet access. For anyone that exceeds 10 hours a month, NetZero still offers NetZero Platinum for only $6.95 right now. NetZero also offers a service called NetZero 3G HiSpeed for only $9.95 a month. 3G HiSpeed is advertised as being “the” fasted dial-up available. These rates are a special promotion and will end. So no matter what a person needs are, NetZero has a specific internet service for everyone.

NetZero DSL

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

netzerodsl.gifAgain, you know that NetZero DSL was released last year. The service was recently made available to my area and I wanted to give a few stats on it. In my area there is a 1.5Mbps (50x faster than dial-up) connection and a 3.0Mbps connection (100x faster than dial-up). The prices can be as low as $17.95 a month when starting up with the 1.5Mbps service. After 3 months the price goes up to $19.99 a month. The 3.0Mbps service seems to be a solid $24.99 a month with no raise in prices. Of course, like with any internet service, these speeds can vary a little depending on…

>The condition of the wiring in your house.

>The number of users currently using your home network.

>The distance from your house to the closest DSL switching station.

NetZero DSL service uses your regular phone line but does not interfere with your phone calls. This means when you are using the internet, your phone line will not be tied up which also means you don’t have to install another phone line. The service comes with free with Norton AntiVirus Online to protect your computer. If this service is available in your area, you should take full advantage of it right now. It is as cheap as a good DSL connection can be. If it is still not available in your area, check back from time to time to see when it is.

NetZero 3G Service Works Like This

Monday, July 2nd, 2007

NetZero was the first free internet provider; founded by Ronald T Burr, Stacy Haitsuka, Marwan Zebian and Harold MacKenzie in 1998. Since then, NetZero has constantly improved internet access by being extremely innovative. They have several patents and have virtually destroyed most of the competition that has risen in the past 9 years. Now they have again made internet access more convenient using another great idea. This is 3G or third generation internet. This NetZero service is boasted to be the “fastest available dial-up connection”. It is said to be 5 times faster than the average dial-up connection and some have even said, “you wouldn’t believe it wasn’t broadband”. So the question….how did they make a dial-up connection that is so fast? The answer is that is pre-fetches HTML markup, JavaScript and other small files and compresses them. Or in other words, the service uses any idle time and silently begins to “fetch” or download documents that the user might browse to in wrightbrothers1.jpgthe near future. This pre-fetched information is stored in the cache making it possible to load very very quickly. More proof that it is often better to be smarter than stronger. This service is still available for a great price of only $9.95 a month for the first 12 months. SIGN UP HERE.

Not all dial-up is the same

Monday, June 18th, 2007

special-offer-acc-large_n1.gifThere are many dial-up options available today. But something we all often overlook, is that not all dial-up services are the same. Some dial-up services run considerably slower than others, making some things, such as video downloads, next to impossible. There are several factors that play into this. One being location. Internet systems work on a shared environment, meaning that you share the same line with people that live between your house and the system hub. Another very large factor is the service itself. Right now Netzero offers the highest speed dial up connection available. It can be And right now, Netzero is making this available for a very reasonable price of only $9.95 a month. I’ve looked around and that is the cheapest available. So for good, fast dial-up at an even better price, it should be looked into!
